Impostor Syndrome
Don't let impostor syndrome slow you down! Here's how we can tackle this problem that plagues almost every web developer (not a code snippet, but still generally helpful)
Let's talk about Impostor Syndrome
In web development, and many other areas in life, we can feel like we're a fraud, inadequate or we don't know what we're doing and we'll exposed as fakes.
It's been 20 years, and I still get this feeling (fun fact: it's nothing to be ashamed of, it's pretty normal!)
But what causes impostor syndrome?
And how can we fight it?
In this video I talk about impostor syndrome and how we can deal with it. This isn't a problem that's strictly limited to coders, but we tend to feel it more than most industries it seems, and almost everybody ends up feeling impostor syndrome at some point in their life.
So if you're feeling down, or like a fraud, or like you don't deserve to be a developer, or maybe you're just having a down day... let's talk about it.
Developers have lots of coding support, but not very much mental support.
Let's open an ongoing conversation and demystify impostor syndrome.
